Virtual Accounts

Dedicated accounts with payments initiated by the user (in their banking app or wallet).

Bamboo Payment's Virtual Accounts allow merchants to provision permanent, unique local bank identifiers—such as a CLABE in Mexico or a CVU in Argentina—for their end-users.

Once an account is assigned, users can independently make bank transfers (Pay-ins) from their mobile banking apps or home banking portals at any time. Bamboo automatically tracks, reconciles, and notifies your system of these incoming funds in real-time, completely removing manual overhead.

💡 Core Benefits for Enterprise Platforms

  • Open Amount Funding: The generated identifiers support multiple deposits without expiration dates or predefined transaction amounts, perfect for recurring payments or continuous wallet top-ups.
  • Automated Reconciliation: Every incoming payment is tied to a specific customer using your unique internal reference identifier, reducing manual support tickets and unmatched funds.
  • No Checkout Required: Because the accounts are permanent, users do not need to initiate a checkout session on your platform prior to making a deposit. They simply transfer the funds directly to the assigned identifier.

⚙️ How it Works: The Transactional Flow

The interaction model is based on an asynchronous architecture designed to handle open-amount deposits without the need for pre-initiated transactions on your platform.

The end-to-end lifecycle consists of these steps:

1. Virtual Account Assignment (Setup)

Through a simple API call, Bamboo creates a unique and dedicated bank identifier (the Virtual Account) linked to a specific user identity.

Local Payment Instrument

Once you receive the Virtual Account via API response, your platform must display and communicate the payment instructions clearly to the end-user (such as the bank name, account number, and legal holder name) so they know where to route their funds.

2. Direct Deposit (Funding)

The end-user performs a standard local bank transfer (via SPEI, COELSA, etc.) from their own financial institution directly to their newly assigned Virtual Account. This transfer can be recurring, spontaneous, or of any open amount.

3. Automatic Recognition

The Bamboo platform continuously monitors the banking network. Upon receiving a deposit, our system instantly identifies the merchant and the specific end-user based solely on the unique Virtual Account identifier, registering the transaction in Bamboo’s ledger.

4. Instant Credit & Notification

Bamboo automatically credits your merchant balance in real-time. We then trigger a secure Webhook notification to your servers, allowing you to instantly assign the payment to the user's wallet on your platform. No reference matching or manual reconciliation is required.
